Hmm. The trick here is: it has to be about a hunnerd bucks. It can't be a thousand, or twenty.
I remember driving home with the fam from the fam cottage at the end of a summer vacation, maybe twelve years ago. We stopped in Wisconsin Dells, that pit of American fantasy where hundred dollar bills go to die. Deb and Robin went off to do what little girls like to do. I dropped a hundred with the boys at a go-cart track/roller-coaster place. At the time, a C note was a big deal, but I remember it being well worth its demise.
ROFLOL.
Oh, sorry. It's just that right now, $100 would be so very, very welcome that I'm having a hard time remembering when I spent that much on something fun....
Oh, see? Now we've got to take up a collection, so that ElephantsChild can go out and have a nice memory of blowing a C note.
But first, we must be told how she'd spend it!
Point taken! :) Sorry about my sour mood the other night.
My husband and I spent about that in the summer of 2007 to go see Glenn Beck's "An Inconvenient Tour"
Yeah, that was definitely worth it. What a great show - and proof that you can do comedy for adults without being foul and profane. Nice clean show, but rib-splitting funny.
His name was Panzer.
He was out first AKC registered German Shepherd Dog puppy....
He cost $75 dollars in 1968.
His pedigree was made up of old East Coast Bloodlines and German Imports.
Sometimes the Lord opens doors using,in His Divine Providence, a dog....
Sir Walter Scott remarked:
"Recollect that the Almighty, who gave the dog to be companion of our pleasures and our toils, hath invested him with a nature noble and incapable of deceit."
Panzer, our "Armor" (auf Deutsch)...our friend.... He was the darling of our hearts.
I took my wife (then our first date) to dinner. About a hundred bucks...a nice restaurant in laguna Beach, CA.
We were married and she brough me to the Lutheran Church where I heard the Word, and Lord kept me in the promise of my baptism, and fanned that flicker of faith into a roaring fire (at times!).
Happy Birthday Bruce!!!
Sorry I'm late to the discussion, but I have an answer. The best $100 I ever spent included spending $50 on fantastic cut of meat - a beef tenderloin. At first, I was nervous and hoped I hadn't made a bad purchase. It cooked up beautifully and was the best tasting beef EVER. I decided that from then on I would only buy good cuts of meat, even to the point of buying only tenderloin once or twice a month. We will just eat less meat otherwise. A cheap steak is a waste of money! The best $100 I ever spent taught me a lesson about value in food. By the way, the $100 was gift to us.
